The majority of the work you will find here are a mishmash of vintage imagery and a grungy deviation of the pristine. I want my work, created with a very modern technique, to evoke feelings of nostalgia and a longing for the long ago. I want the viewer to get the feeling that what they are looking at was discovered in the bottom of an old steamer's trunk that was tucked away in Grandpa's attic and forgotten.
I have been a student of art in all its forms over the years and still enjoy playing with my paints and pens, but have an affection for digital art and photomanipulation that leads me to believe it is my intended niche. It borders on an addiction and obsession. I believe my creative voice speaks loudest when I'm in front of my computer.
Rarely do I sit down with the intention creating or conveying something specific. Rather, I am compelled to just play and let the work emerge on its own terms. Due to this lack of planning and control, I do not necessarily create because I want to, but because I must.
More often than not I discover in the final piece that some esoteric symbolism has crept in. Thus, my pieces are a glimpse of where I am in my life for that brief moment, my mood and my feelings on it all.
